Go Sharks!

The Kid is on the local swim team, and we have been going to meets alot lately. We are a very small team, we do not have our own pool, so have to practice in local pools, and so we have a limited number of swimmers. Some of these other teams we go to meets with are huge, up to three times the swimmers we have.

We also did not have a banner.

Here is what our logo looks like.

I used the smart board in The Kid's classroom and made a tracing of the outline and the outlines of the different colors in the shark.

Of course I was too eager to see if it would work out that I did not document my process like I meant to. Bummer. Anyway, I used sheets of that iron on Heat and Bond film, and ironed it to fabric of the right color. Then I cut out the color shapes of the shark, and pinned them to the corresponding fabrics, and cut those out as well. Then it was a matter of piecing it together like a puzzle, and ironing those pieces into place.

Looking good, almost done.

I then used PVC pipes to create a stand that can be taken apart and easily transported.

WE GOT SPIRIT YES WE DO!!!
Now we just need a team cheer.

  2. Chumming the water...The thing is our team is not too feirce, so a rough and ready team cheer seems kind of funny to me.
